Bathtub Acid

from Seven Excuses for . . . by Burnt Norton

/

lyrics

He took me aside, I looked in his eyes, he said "I think I'm Les Paul, you know, the start of it all. In this one little room I've got eight tracks of doom. Do you know what I mean? I know you've seen what I've seen." Next thing he up and died from getting too high and I was sitting in court describing our sport. The cultures and hoses, the pale blue roses. Every juror was moved but none had a clue. All they felt was disgust but it was special to us; all the late nights, hazy summers and street lights. Pop songs for anthems, we manufactured chems with our hot new degrees from the hippest Ivy Leagues. We went right to the end but as we rounded the bend we saw all the hazards of bathtub acid.
